Terms and Conditions

Dog

  • The Owner acknowledges that matting and knotting of the pet's coat may cause discomfort and/or injury to the pet, and may result in additional fees. The Owner understands that shaving a matted coat is a slow and delicate process that requires experience and expertise and may carry inherent risks. The Owner acknowledges that a dog’s skin is thin and heavy matts may cause it to become loose, and that clippers can easily cut loose skin, especially if the pet is unsettled, uncomfortable, and in pain. The Owner understands that the slightest movement on the grooming table, with clippers against the pet's fragile skin, may result in nicks or cuts.

The Owner understands that once the matts are removed, exposed skin may become itchy and the pet may scratch or lick the area, causing the skin to become irritated and inflamed from mouth saliva. Despite these risks, the Owner gives permission for the Grooming Service to shave the pet as short as necessary to safely remove matting and knots.

  • The Owner acknowledges that the Grooming Service is not responsible for any preexisting health conditions or injuries that may be exacerbated during the grooming process. The Owner agrees to inform the Grooming Service of any health concerns or conditions that may affect the pet's grooming. The Owner understands that senior dogs and dogs with health problems have a greater chance of injury, and therefore these dogs will be groomed for cleanliness and comfort in styles that will not add to their stress.

In the event that a problem arises during the grooming process, the Grooming Service will contact the Owner immediately and take the dog to the Owner's authorized veterinarian or to the Grooming Service's emergency veterinarian. The Owner acknowledges and agrees that all expenses for veterinary care are the sole responsibility of the Owner.

  • The Grooming Service agrees to provide a safe and secure environment for the pet during the grooming process and to take reasonable measures to minimize risks. However, the Grooming Service cannot guarantee the safety of the pet and acknowledges that there may be inherent risks associated with the grooming process. The Grooming Service agrees to communicate with the Owner regarding any concerns or problems that arise during the grooming process.

Cat

  • The Owner acknowledges that de-matting and clipping of the pet's coat may expose existing skin conditions and can result in injury to the pet. The Owner understands that cats have a higher risk of being cut during the grooming process, especially as they age and matting becomes more pronounced. The Owner acknowledges that the stress of grooming, even the slightest amount, can result in illness and even death in cats with underlying undiagnosed conditions.

The Owner understands that grooming is at the Owner's own risk and that Kloud9 Pet and its staff hold no liability for any accidents, illnesses, or deaths that may occur during the grooming process. The Owner agrees to keep their pet's health checks and vaccinations up to date, and to keep grooming regularly in order to minimize risks associated with grooming. The Owner acknowledges that all costs associated with veterinary attention are the Owner's responsibility.

  • Kloud9 Pet designates 30 minutes to 2 hours for grooming a cat, no more. The Owner acknowledges that cats have a low threshold for stress and grooming must be quick and precise. If the cat shows signs of stress during the grooming process, the Owner may be asked to return another day to complete the grooming. Payment for future appointments will be required at pick up. Kloud9 Pet will not perform grooming sessions that last longer than 2 hours as this can be dangerous for cats, even if they are not showing signs of stress.

  • The Owner acknowledges that if their cat is presented at the salon with a contagious disease (such as fleas, ringworm, cat flu, bacterial or fungal skin infections) or if a pre-existing condition is discovered during the grooming process, the cat will be sent home and the grooming session will not be completed. Full grooming fees will still be payable at pick up. The Owner acknowledges that failure to disclose pre-existing conditions is disrespectful to the grooming staff and other clients, and may pose a risk to the health and well-being of other pets.

  • The Owner acknowledges that prices for grooming may change at the discretion of the Grooming Service and that extra fees may apply for matting, aggression, fleas, hard-to-groom coats, bad skin, infected ears, extra time needed, biting, extremely matted or heavy coats, and other such conditions. The Owner acknowledges that these conditions can cause wear and tear on grooming equipment and can be time-consuming for the groomer, and therefore extra fees may apply.

  • The Owner acknowledges that they are responsible for providing accurate information about their pet and any relevant health concerns, and that they are responsible for the payment of all fees associated with grooming. The Owner agrees to inform the Grooming Service of any changes in the pet's health, behavior, or other relevant information.
